Our flock was first established here in 2015. Since inheriting them with the farm in 2022, we have worked to know each individual under our care -- our "matriarchs," our breeding rams, the quality of fleece each grows and passes down through family lineage, any health related issues throughout the year, and specific weather conditions impacting the quality of pastures and our management. Each year brings different challenges, and each sheared fleece tells the story of a life lived.
While the Clun Forest breed is wonderfully consistent in fleece production -- a "down breed" producing creamy white, thick wool with a high crimp measuring anywhere from 3.5 to 5.5 inches in staple length -- some are just softer and silkier. Through careful sorting, we find the right use for each one. Below is a current list of products. We endeavor to keep the wool as close to home as possible, partnering with nearby mills for many of the end products.

Pygora / Clun Forest blend yarn
This natural, un-dyed yarn is a blend of our two flocks -- Clun Forest sheep and Pygora goats. A very unique yarn with a personality all it own! It has a luxurious, silky feel, contributed by the shiny, fine locks of the Pygora and the springy crimped wool of the Clun Forest.
Pygoras are a cross between Pygmy and Angora goats and their fleeces are categorized into three "types:" type A is most like Angora mohair, with long, shiny waves from base to tip; type B is a blend of A and C; and type C is most like cashmere, with distinct guard hairs and a very soft downy undercoat.
The white yarn comes from Dobby who grows mostly type B fleece, and is blended with the best wool from Abigail and Claire, among the original ewes to our flock.
The gray yarn comes from Audrey, who grows mostly type C fleece, and is blended with the very fine fleece of Doris, also a foundational ewe in our flock.
